Hello! I thought that you might like to know a little about me since we will be spending so much time together. I grew up in a small farming town southeast of Austin called Columbus. From a very early age I knew I wanted to be a teacher, and I used to make my little brother and sister play ‘school’ with me all the time. After I graduated high school, I moved to Austin to attend the University of Texas where I received my teaching degree. I also completed my master's degree at Texas State University. I’ve taught kindergarten, GT, and fifth grade. Fifth grade is my absolute favorite, and I love teaching here at Forest Trail! Between now and the end of the year, one thing that I hope I can show you is how much I love learning – both helping students learn new things and learning new things myself. When teaching, I like to do a lot of hands-on activities and cooperative projects. Throughout our time together, I hope I can help you develop a love of learning as well. I am married to my college sweetheart, Pablo, and we love our daily adventures with our two little boys, Liam and Nico. My favorite things to do are spend time with my family, read, sew, and travel. I'm so excited to spend the year with you. We are going to have SO much fun! Love, Jamie Berrios
